NEW YEAR, SAME ME : LAURA ROWE PHOTO & DESIGN

Okay, so it’s January 4th and I’m just now getting around to my “New Year” blog post. Ugh… it feels like a crime because I wasn’t on top of things and posting this on January 1st. However, I’m going to simply blame it on 2017 because that’s just about how that year went down. 2017 was a year of insane growth for Laura Rowe Photo & Design… so much so that it really blows my mind.

At times the growth was overwhelming, as I experienced a tremendous number of growing pains. These pains either left me feeling fueled and inspired, or they left me feeling trampled. I remembered things I already knew like “done is better than perfect” and “you can sleep when you’re dead.” Ok… maybe that last one shouldn’t have been remembered. But seriously! I cannot get over how many lives I entered into this year and it left me on cloud nine. I am so, SO thankful for each and every client that entrusted me with photographing their families, their moments, and their memories.

This year was also a very pivotal year for me personally. I lost a lot of relationships and gained a lot as well. I traveled and stayed super, super busy (see paragraph directly above). I sang an insane amount of music (oops, did you know I was a vocal performance major?). I traveled some more. I visited family. I remained a loyal Taco Bell fan (it’s my favorite restaurant). I sang in a musical. I helped a friend plan a surprise engagement. I photographed my own little sister’s senior photos (how is she even that old?!?!). I sang at a musical festival. I ate some gooooood food. I made new friends. I became a Chiefs fan (?!). I played some golf. I sang some more. I graduated from college (yeeeeah, I’m a baby if you didn’t already know). I had the most amazing Christmas holiday to date. I looked ahead to 2018 with stars in my eyes.

If that recap wasn’t enough for you, check out this recap of my year through pictures, iPhone photos and all. Life is good, y’all. And just in case you’re feeling like it isn’t, always remember that you don’t need a new year to create a “new you.” You can be “new” any time you’d like, it only starts with a decision to be and do differently.

Love ALWAYS —

Laura
