I really do love traveling for its own reasons, but getting to meet new people and photograph them in new places really does take the cake. I met Miss Liby in Lafayette, Louisiana for her senior photos recently and can’t even begin to say enough about how sweet her and her momma were to work with.
We began… in the rain… and Liby was such a trooper, seriously! For the first half of her session, she decided on Vermilionville, which is a living history and folk life park dedicated to educating locals and visitors about the history of Lafayette and its acadian roots. Oh, and it is located right on the Bayou Vermilion, which worked beautifully with Liby’s flowy and feminine style. I actually hadn’t been to the park since I was a little girl so it was definitely fun to get to walk around and explore all of the wrap-around porches, picket fences, and their little ferry.
For Liby’s second location, we headed out to her grandparents’ house in Duson, Louisiana. The rain had (finally) stopped and we were able to hang out in the yard near the sugar cane fields as well as inside her grandmother’s new little cottage – which I absolutely died over. It is just too cute; check it out below!!
Liby, I hope the last few months of your senior year are as much fun as our afternoon together! Your laughter and smiles are simply contagious and I know you are headed on towards big things at UL!
